Hear Ye, Hear Ye....
All able-bodied gardeners are summoned to an encampment to be held at Valley Forge, PA. We will muster on April 6, 2025, for a “Gardening Revolution.” For it was here, in the winter of 1777, that a rag tag army, fresh from defeats by the British, lay dormant during the winter, only to emerge in the spring and blossom into a fighting force that would ultimately cultivate the seeds of liberty. Back then, Valley Forge was a bit like a botanical disaster area--no peonies, no petunias, no blue bells, just a bunch of bedraggled soldiers with a severe lack of greenery. But fast forward to the 2025 GCFP Convention, and you are in for a treat!
District XI is looking forward to hosting the 95th GCFP Convention entitled, “A Gardening Revolution” on April 6-8, 2025. It will take place at the ALLOY Hotel in King of Prussia. It’s a quick 5-minute drive from the PA turnpike.
Highlights of the convention include trolley rides through Valley Forge National Park on Sunday afternoon, Monday lunch with Martha Washington, and dinner with Renee Tucci, author of “Framing Floral Techniques.” You will also learn about Colonial Kitchen Gardens, wild orchids growing in Hazelton, PA, and recycling for the birds! Your design skills will be uplifted with presentations on Exhibition Tables, on positive and negative space within a floral design and on discovering new creativity in design.
We hope you can join our encampment on April 6-8, 2025.
Pull out your finest red, white and blue attire.
